Kalan is a former Inside Pitch Baseball Academy student from 2001-2007. He participated in pitching, catching, hitting and fitness instruction during his time with Inside Pitch. Some of Kalan’s playing highlights include playing in the Saskatchewan Summer Games, playing in multiple National and Western Canadian Championships and playing on Team Saskatchewan at the 2006 Canada Cup in Medicine Hat. Kalan also played with the WMBL Regina Red Sox in 2007. Kalan led Leboldus to an undefeated season and an RHSAA City Championship in his senior year of high school.
After graduating high school Kalan received a full baseball scholarship to Galveston College, a Division I Junior College in Galveston, Texas. While playing baseball in Galveston Kalan made the President’s List for his academic achievements. After spending a season in Galveston, Kalan returned home to pursue a degree in engineering at the University of Regina. Kalan is currently completing his Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Industrial Systems Engineering. Kalan continues to play senior baseball in the Qu’appelle Valley Baseball League with the Regina Capitals and is a 2-time league champion.
Kalan’s passion for personal fitness and self improvement led him to natural bodybuilding in 2012. Kalan is a Provincial champion and CBBF National level drug free competitor. He has competed as an amateur in multiple drug-tested and polygraphed events including two 1st place finishes at the annual INBF Calgary Cup in 2012 and 2013. Kalan earned his pro status with the NPAA in 2013. Kalan is also a member of the Natural Athletes Alliance, a non-profit organization that conducts random off-season drug testing for competitive natural bodybuilders to ensure the integrity of natural sports and drug-free competitions. In addition to Kalan’s role with Inside Pitch he currently works with Trench Fitness as a Fitness Consultant designing and maintaining customized nutrition and training programs for clients.
Kalan is a product of the Inside Pitch Baseball Academy’s PowerFit program and brings many years of training experience to the Inside Pitch team. He is eager to help Inside Pitch students take their game to the next level and achieve their goals!
